ToonFinder Presents: Episode 13
Here we are with Episode 13!
This a few notes from this podcast:
A new podcast is on the scene! Head on over and listen to Mouse Guest Weekly and make sure Eric is feeling the love.
I give you a little update on my mess-ups from our last episode, just filling in the holes that I left open. For example, Mickey’s appearance at a dining location was short lived… and I’m sort of happy about it.
People near Hong Kong Disneyland don’t like the fireworks Disney is using. They want to have the air launch system installed to cut down on the smoke. Disney says “its not feasible”.
DisneyToon Studios is closing it’s Sydney Australia location.
Miramax has a new president and Sky High is coming on thursday (welcome back into the fold Kurt Russel)
Ray Kuykendall says:
I enjoyed the show this week.
I have to say that I agree with the comments of allowing the TV animation to do the features. The animation is almost “chessey”, and I say that in a good way. I should have been left to Saturday Morning. It shows that even with Disney, it comes down to money. I don’t think that Walt would have approved.
I too am looking forward to Ski Hi. I watch a trailer and found it interesting that the town or city that they live in is Medville, which is a cool tie to the Medville movies of Kurts early work with Diseny.
I was wondering, with Halloween coming up and planning a vacation, does the Headless Horseman appear in Disneyland like he does in the Magic Kingdom? I think it is great the Disney has made an effort to showcase more of the villians. If you don’t have villians then you wouldn’t have heros.
Once again great show.
Linus says:
Hi Ray,
I can’t belive I missed the Medville tie-ins in the Sky High trailer. That is a cool little throw-back.
There is always lots of villains out at Disneyland on Halloween day, but this year will be a little different since there is actually (finally) some Halloween events. They are transplanting a version of “Mickey’s not so scary halloween party” to CA. It remains to be seen what kind of a presence the villains have here.
